Based on the diversity associated with today’s dog breeds, scientists believe that your dog was formed by crossing several associated species from the dog family. Included in this, Charles Darwin [36] and the ethologist of Austria, Konrad Lorenz, were the initiators of the idea of evolution, who concluded that the ancestors of the domestic canine were a wolf and a jackal. Today’s founded opinion, supported by the results of genetic analyzes, will be that the domestic pet developed from a small group of wolves, domesticated about 15,000 years back.

It isn’t known just how the domesticated doggy was held. It is possible that canines were the people who made the initial step. Namely, if wild dogs started to be little enough to be unsafe, to visit human discarded bones, they might collect waste materials and camps. Thus, people probably tolerated them since they were cleaning their surroundings. It is possible they have started to fascinate, approach them, and domesticize them as guard dogs and companions then. It was only once agriculture was progressing that the herds could be preserved. Or elsewhere: the dogs followed a smarter collection in the hope of getting anything from prey.

The first remains of a domestic puppy were uncovered in Mesolithic sites in different places. It appears that the initial European breed was quite small and would usually be best compared to today’s small dog.

Many breeds originate from a small amount of animals, which leads to mating inside kinship. The result is several hereditary (genetic) illnesses common in some breeds, for instance hip dysplasia (specifically in German shepherds), epilepsy, ataxia, oculoskeletal dysplasia, and others
